My mistake...

I intended to use this speedbooster with the Sigma 18-35 1.8 on a Sony FX30. This speedbooster is designed to be used with full frame lanses. With crop lenses there is vignetting, in the case of the Sigma between 18-24 vignetting is present. It was the only combo I was interested. Autofocus is supported (a little slow), actually functionality is ok and I have no complaint regarding it, as I said the mistake is on my side.

Quasi parfait

useful for apsc R mount if you prefer EF lenses

PRO:
1) works as an EF-RF adapter and reduces the focal length multiplication of apsc sensors. EF lenses are less expensive than RF, more diverse and require less in body correction in general.
2) EF lenses gain an extra stop of exposure. For example a 70-200 EF f4L gets the light gathering power of the much heavier and more expensive 70-200 EF f2.8 L
3) Seems to have a weather sealing gasket. If you keep it on your camera, its optics prevent dust entering your camera body during lens swaps.
4) Additional control dial is handy and well placed.
5) Can use EF lenses with a standard adaptor, which would act as a 1.6 teleconverter
CON:
1) maybe some optical artifacts in some cases? None noticed so far.
2)adds a little to length of kit, but I find it helps balance a small apsc body on a longer lens.
3)background blur "bokeh or toneh" seems no better than the original focal length,
4)Camera may not report correct data for images. May also interfere with IBIS and AF speed at some apertures . Very lens specific in my experience.
5) Subject to loss of some functionality depending on camera firmware, although the adapter can also be updated.
