The Meike 35mm F2 is a pleasant surprise in the world of budget-friendly lenses for Sony E-mount cameras. Offered at a very competitive price, it delivers more than respectable optical quality for its cost. The build is solid, with a housing that feels reassuring, and the lens produces sharp images even wide open, with a smooth and pleasing bokeh. For amateur photographers or content creators on a tight budget, the price-performance ratio is simply outstanding.
One of the standout features of this lens is its auto focus, which performs surprisingly well on modern Sony bodies like the Alpha 7 IV. Thanks to full integration with Sony’s autofocus algorithms, it’s fast, quiet, and accurate and such, even in low light. It tracks faces and eyes with impressive reliability, making it perfectly suited for both video work and street or portrait photography.
Highly recommended (and I purchased the lens with my own money, this is not a sponsored review !)
