  • Close-up distance of 0.55m & large aperture of F1.8.

The closest focusing distance is only 0.55m and with an F1.8 large aperture. The subject is presented with a three-dimensional and layered visual effect.

  • The weight is approximately 364g (E mount).

                                Optical Construction

With 9 aperture blades for a softer bokeh effect, the shallow depth of field it creates makes the background more defocused to highlight the subject when shooting portraits, and at the same time, the shutter speed can be increased accordingly to capture the moment under the same parameters.

                                                        8 Groups 11 Elements

Lens double-sided Multilayer coating, 2 ED lenses, 2 high refraction lens, 1 Ultra-high refraction lens, effectively control CA, ghosting, flare. The closest focusing distance reaches 0.55m, and the ability to take macro shots is just as impressive.

Optically great lens

Switched from Sony 50 1.8 and im really pleased by its performance. Much sharper than Sony, especially in corners. Better contrast, similiar (good) AF. It's all plastic, so it doesn't feel like a premium lens, but build quality is still good. I liked the apreture switch on lens even though i thought i won't use it. It's a nice feature. Maybe just a bit to easy to turn. At this moment - best 50 mm in its price range, not even used lens can compete.

Great Nifty Fifty for L-Mount cameras.

I've bought this lens as I wanted an affordable yet qualitative 50 mm lens foe my Panasonic L-Mount cameras (S1/S1/R and S5) with the intention to build a portable system when I don't want to bring with me heavy zoom lenses. I decided for this Meike 55 mm F/1.8 Pro once I already bought the Meike 35 MM F/2 and the Meike 85 mm f/1.8 Pro lenses which performs admirably well considering the price and I have to say that this 55 mm lens is as good if not better as the former two lenses given that the focal lenght is the one I use the most. The lens is relatively compact, feels good in the hand, has a nice aperture ring, which is extremely handy during the shooting sessions, and most of all has a very good overall image quality, with great sharpness even at large apertures, nice bookeh and color rendering. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I recommend this lens over the first party counterpart if your budget is tight and you don't want to sacrifice the quality.

Kuds to Meike for providing such good proudct at relatively low prices, so now I would like to see from the manufacturer an autofocus zoom lens :-)

Meike 55mm f1.8 Pro Full Frame Auto Focus STM Lens

The lens is optically excellent. I am really happy with him. I already have several older Meike manual lenses at home, but this one is groundbreaking and excellent. The only thing missing for complete perfection is a better locking of the aperture ring in the 1.8 aperture position. When I supported the lens with my hand while shooting with an aperture of 1.8, the aperture was changed several times to 2 or eventually to 2.2. Maybe it's just my lens and it can be solved by controlling the aperture from the camera body, but then again it doesn't bother me that much. I'm a big Meike fan and look forward to more such great lenses.
