85mm f/1.4 is a high-resolution portrait shooting lens which can achieve high-resolution imaging in focus and soft background blurring out of focus, providing clear image for daily shooting. The lens is easy to carry and its images are sharp and clear at any aperture.
The 85mm f/1.4 uses the newest optical structure, making it able to achieve a large aperture of f/1.4. Multi-layer coating technology is used on both sides of the lens to restore more realistic colors. The lens is not easy to attach dust or stains, and can be easily wiped clean.

bought the L-Mount version for my S5iix

I bought this lens for my Panasonic S5iix a few weeks ago and overall I'm very happy with it.

Pros:
- the image quality is on a very high level
- face detection auto focus works great as long as subjects don't move fast. For portraits it's good enough.
- build quality feels very good
- it already survived a rainy day where it got completely wet
- the weight is very well balanced
- firmware updating is easy and fast

My cons (but no deal breakers):
- DXO Photolab always wants me to download the profile for the Sigma lens as the manufacturer is not saved in the exif data
- the autofocus is on the slow side
- the focus ring could offer a bit more resistance

After some weeks of using it I really like the lens and can recommend it to others as long as you are aware that it is not a sports lens.

Beautiful IQ but not so reliable AF using EYE/Face detect + AF-C Mode. (Meike 85mm F1.4 Z Mount)

4 STARS!
Will drop a review because I love this lens even if there's a problem.

Image quality is really really good and image is sharp at F1.4 when you hit the autofocus well.

I am in my studio and using my Nikon ZF with AF-C Eye/Face detect settings and I'm not sure why it keep missing focus. 4/10 shots on a still person missed the focus.

It does focus REALLY WELL when I use AF-S with Small Area Focus or Single Point Focus area (F1.4).

I love this beautiful lens and hoping there will be an update related to the autofocus of this lens as it is really unreliable when using the EYE AF + AF-C mode for professional work especially on moving subjects.

Good Sharpness, no colour fringing, but no so reliable autofocus 😒

I got this Z mount model 2 weeks back and put it into testing on different occasions, and i must say the optical quality is great for this price point, truly meike made a benchmark with almost no colour fringing against harsh sun light, the sharpness at 1.4 is very compelling with smooth edges in the fall off. The one thing that I don’t like is the slow autofocus performance, when i put into continuous mode and shoot moving objects, it doesn’t work as reliable as expected, and in the video the focus breathing is clearly visible when we change the focus from near to far objects or vice versa. The latest firmware version 1.34 also doesn’t help. I hope the autofocus and focus breathing will be fixed soon , otherwise this is good glass for this price point one would never say no.

When it focused, the pix is sharp.

Ordered the Z mount version. First off, the customer service is superb. I wrote them about some focusing issues and they wrote a firmware the same day. Autofocus with AF-C is satisfactory with the update, better than using AF-S where the pix at the focused area might still not be sharp when I shot on a tripod and the focus box turned green (around 10% of the time). Hopefully, their tech can get this fix. Secondly, I just received a FedEx invoice for the delivery (or duty) fee, equivalent to $10 USD. In short, the images are great, but the focus can be slow or inaccurate at times ...for now.
